Some of
the many records either dedicated, featuring or other (small) connection
to the lad himself. Unfortunately most, if not all, have
now been discontinued. You can still find them about, second-hand,
if you look hard enough. So keep those minces peeled!
|
| The
singles collection - There
was only one single release (not counting the promo) wholly dedicated
to extracts from Hancock's Half Hour radio shows. However,
there were a dozen or so other single releases. Several of these
were
either TV show theme tunes or film soundtracks. Others were
complete songs written wholly as a dedication to the lad
himself -
by numerous artists of the music industry. And finally, those
that either mention him in some way, or feature him personally,
by way of
a brief show extract or something similar. |

These
Singles are no longer available, as I'm sure you're already aware,
and as I say on many occasions - across the many pages of The
Cuttings -
some are quite rare. Above, are most of the releases I have at the
moment. There are
others,
released over the last five decades. These will added either:
once I've prepared them ready for presentation or, tracked those
down,
which I don't
already have, after preparing them for presentation.
You can
still find them
about second-hand,
as indeed I did, if you
look hard enough. So keep those minces peeled!

All the sound files available for download on this page (the whole of Railway Cuttings, come to think of it) have been compressed / archived in the MP3 format. I've done my utmost to try and achieve the best sound quality to file size, thus keeping the files small enough to download in the least possible time (around 1MB). This should also help prevent anyone falling a sleep during the process. What with The Cuttings growing literally day by day I'm having to juggle with the space / bandwidth, on the server. What follows is rather obvious really, but... click the tune you're interested in hearing and (hopefully) your favourite media player should spring into life, mine does! I'm using Windows Media Player - v9, just in case anyone's interested... Once a link, to a sound file, is clicked Media Player will start buffering - it could take anything up to 60 seconds - before you start to hear your chosen file. The rest will be streamed (downloaded in the background) as your selection plays. Well..., that's what should happen anyway... So good luck! Unfortunately, sometimes you need it with these things. |

Railway
Cuttings is the first Web site to contain this information,
in detail, with pictures and an accompanying sound
file - of
a whole track - for your listening pleasure
(server space permitting), selected from
several of the above singles. The most comprehensive collection
of Hancock related
records anywhere on the Web, so far!

This
single should be easy to find. Indeed you may trip over
one. So mind your step!
|
|
This
single can be found, but you may have to look harder,
it won't just fall into your lap!
|
|
|
This single is very difficult to find. If you do find a copy relatively easily, then you were lucky! |
|
|
This single is as rare as they come. Indeed, it's like gold dust. I'd almost defy you to find a copy! |
