This first picture is quite unusual, as I think you'll agree. I first came across it at a Bournemouth reunion (held by the T.H.A.S., as an annual event), many years ago, just after I took up my position as the T.H.A.S. video librarian. I can't, for the life of me, remember much about the gentleman who brought it along, but I thought it unusual enough to ask for a copy. I was promptly sent what you now see before you. Its origin and the reasons behind it are indeed a mystery. To me anyhow. So if anyone can shed any light on what was the reason for this picture, I'd love to hear from you. One reply, to the above request

Many months ago now someone did reply, via e-mail, to the above request for information about this picture. It was suggested that it may well have had something to do with the Radio Times. Although I don't personally recollect either seeing or hearing of its existence in a past edition of this magazine (a colour picture of Hancock is quite unusual and something I would normally try and keep an eye out for), this could quite possibly be the case though. I was also told that David Silverstein had done work for the Radio Times in the past. Maybe this picture was for a feature that never actually appeared in the mag, for some reason, or the feature did appear, but this picture was never used. I'm sure it must have been meant for a magazine. And if not the Radio Times, then which one...
