SALE - Of all the memorabilia listed on The Cuttings - STILL ON! |
Absolutely everything must go! Yes, that's right, everything (minus only a few very special items, which remain dear to me) is up for sale! So, if you're interested in buying any of the many items of memorabilia, listed within these very pages, then please do contact me, and we can work out a price... |
Please note: that this doesn't mean the demise of Railway Cuttings. It'll continue to be here for many years to come yet, and indeed, it'll still be updated periodically - with my first priority being: a complete inventory of all Hancock related CDs, and thus a Hancock compact disc collection. These Hancock related CDs, although not (yet) listed / shown on The Cuttings, do exist in my collection, and are also up for sale, along with many other items, too numerous to list here... So, if you’re after something in particular, that, as I say, is not yet listed / shown on The Cuttings, then please do e-mail me, as I may well have it tucked away somewhere. If I can help, I will... Please remember though, that some of these items will not be cheap, as they've now become both very rare and thus highly collectable. Oh! And one last thing... if you're a Steptoe and Son fan, then I could well have something amongst my Steptoe and Son memorabilia collection that may be of interest to you. Maybe you're after a long deleted video, record, book or maybe even the complete set of (five) Radio Times' that featured the two great totters on their covers? So, if you're after anything, as a collector, or general fan for that matter, then please do contact me. I may be able to help you too... |

Anthony John Hancock (Hall Green, Birmingham) 1924 -1968 (St Dunstan's, Midddlesex) This Web site is dedicated to Anthony John Hancock; the lad himself - better known (by many of us), as Tony (Tubs) Hancock. Railway Cuttings is only one of the many places you'll find information about the late great Tony Hancock, via this wonderment of modern technology we call the World Wide Web / Internet. Whilst perusing the various collections / sections that can be found here at The Cuttings, you'll also come across (as well as the already mentioned general info), many items of Hancock related memorabilia - much of which is now rare and collectable - and dates back over 40 years! All are accompanied by a picture / graphic, so as not to leave you under any illusion as to what an item (that you may care to add to your own collection) looks like - which is always handy to know, especially if you're looking for something none specific, relating to the lad and / or his work. Several specially chosen links can also be found, to a handful of other Web sites that have dedicated space, and it must be said, much time and effort, to helping keep alive the great name and works of this most brilliant of British post-war comic talents. So, roll up your sleeves, sit back and reminisce, in the nostalgia that was the lad himself - Tony Hancock (Helped along by both Ray Galton & Alan Simpson, for whom we shall always be indebted!). Bernard Delfont... I remember him... He seemed to be everywhere... Want info about Hancock's 1963 series for ATV? Then click the pic above... Tony Hancock's premature death, in 1968 at the age of 44, deprived the entertainment world of perhaps the greatest post-war comic talents to have emerged from this country. It makes his 80 hours of material originally broadcast by the BBC on radio and television between 1954 and 1961 seem all the more priceless and rare. With his impeccable timing and brilliantly subtle shifts in intonation, he could create a scene that bore the unmistakable hallmark of a genius. Supported by Galton and Simpson's marvelous scripts which so astutely complemented Hancock's talents, and admirably in the studio by his supporting cast; Sid James, Patricia Hayes, Hugh Lloyd on television, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jaques, Bill Kerr and others on radio. The work of Tony Hancock lives on, sustained by a quality that transcends decades and cultural change and which sounds as fresh and hilarious now as it did more then forty years ago. |
Hancock's Half Hour trailer (for the colonies) - Fully restored! |
Restored by me (in my spare time) - so no, it's not official... |
This is the very last piece of H.H.H. related footage still remaining in the BBC archives! Seldom seen, and NEVER released, even when they (the BBC) had the ideal opportunity of including it as a DVD extra / special feature on the recent (and so called complete) Tony Hancock Collection - Anniversary DVD boxed set... And because of that, I'm including it here, for all to see... Enjoy! |
Click Here (or on the picture above), to view this rare (and now newly restored) trailer. |
Oh! You'll need an MPEG-4 compatible plug-in for your browser - if you plan to view online, within a web page. The latest QuickTime or VLC (VideoLAN) media players, being good choices - if you don't already have something sufficient installed already... |
